My Students

I am an occupational therapist working with the most amazing students in NYC's special education public school system. My school serves children who have disabling conditions requiring extensive therapeutic services. My students vary in their diagnoses from Down's syndrome, to autism, to cerebral palsy, to various genetic disorders.

Despite their diagnoses my students have an amazing desire to succeed and share with the world all the special gifts that they possess!

This is why I am so determined to provide them with every opportunity and advantage to do so.

My Project

This OSMO game system helps children with disabilities learn reading, and math using an interactive, multi-sensory approach. Using innovative technology, students can adapt their iPad with OSMO allowing their physical movements to register on the screen!

Most of our special needs students learn by doing, rather than being lectured or reading from a textbook, which makes this system the perfect way for them to access our school's curriculum!

I am so grateful for anything that gives my students the opportunity to succeed. They face so many barriers in their daily life so it gives me immense joy to have the opportunity to eliminate those barriers at least for a little while and give them an even playing field with the rest of their peers. Your donation will mean the world to these kids and help their education more than you could possibly realize!
