This school year, my gifted learners in grades 2-6 will use hands-on learning experiences in order to meet their individualized learning goals. We currently use an LCD projector to project presentations, but my students would like to create interactive presentations using an interactive whiteboard.
I am currently the gifted support teacher in two K-6 elementary schools in a suburban school district.
I provide gifted support services to approximately 40 students in grades 2-6. My students create presentations to share information that they have learned through our gifted curriculum units in science and language arts.
In addition to creating presentations, my students also have an interest in how to incorporate technology into their learning needs. They enjoy the challenge of finding new ways to learn and present information and are constantly seeking out new technology tools to help them do so.
Currently, we use iPads and Google Chromebooks in our class. We have an LCD projector and an AppleTv that allow us to project presentations, but we do not have access to an interactive white board or document camera in our classroom.
My Project
My students are participating in either a science or language arts unit depending on their learning goals. Within each of our units, students create presentations using iPads. My students would like to begin to create interactive presentations using an interactive whiteboard with annotator software.
The IPEVO Wireless Interactive Whiteboard includes downloadable iPad software that will allow them to create, capture images, and record their presentation material. In addition, students will also be able to participate in interactive learning activities created by the teacher.
The IPEVO Document Camera will allow students to share and project activities that they complete in their small group or individually with the class. This will be especially helpful when sharing science experiments with the class. The IPEVO document camera will also collaborate with the IPEVO Interactive Whiteboard, which will allow students to record their activities to use for later presentations.
My students are dedicated learners who have a strong desire to use technology tools to enhance their learning.
With the addition of the IPEVO Wireless Interactive Whiteboard and IPEVO Document camera, my students will be able to create interactive learning experiences.
As a teacher who travels between two buildings, the portability of both products will allow me to provide the same learning experiences for all of my students.
