My Project

Throughout my teaching career, I’ve seen students light up when they get to explore concepts through interactive and engaging lessons. Science and history are not only windows into the world around us—they’re powerful vehicles for building reading comprehension, math application, and critical thinking skills. As I transition into teaching 5th grade next year, I want to continue to fuel that love of exploration. I’m building a brand-new collection of materials that will spark curiosity and support deep understanding across math, science, and history.

This project will help provide interactive, hands-on lessons that bring every subject to life while reinforcing essential reading, math, and thinking skills.

With your support, I’ll be able to purchase engaging math PowerPoints, anchor charts, a U.S. history curriculum with interactive notebooks and hands-on activities, as well as Utah SEEd science lessons that allow students to explore science through high-quality instruction and experiments. These resources will bring energy and clarity to every unit I teach—helping students stay engaged while mastering key concepts.

At my Title I school, many of my students come from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Hands-on, visually rich materials are essential in supporting English language learners and helping all students access grade-level content. These kinds of resources not only make abstract ideas more concrete, but also allow students to engage regardless of language proficiency—building both confidence and understanding through experience.

These engaging materials will allow me to create a more dynamic, student-centered classroom that fosters curiosity, builds confidence, and supports learners at all levels. Best of all, I’ll be able to use them year after year to benefit future students as well.
