My Students

As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.

My students are first graders who live in a rural community in Southern Utah.

My students come from different social backgrounds and sometimes have moved around a lot. My students love to learn by doing.

My Project

The use of the interactive board is almost a daily activity in my classroom, especially in math and language arts. Using the interactive board during math, students come to the rug with for guided practice and learn different strategies. The interactive board allows me to see exactly what they are doing, as well as provide an easy place for them to show and share their work. By having an interactive board, students will be able to avoid problems that paper can cause and focus on increasing their learning!

By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, but you will also ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.

Students will be able to simply focus on the academic material at hand, and not whether their materials are going to work or not. Plus in this technology literate world, any interaction with updated technology will increase their literacy as well as their desire to learn and use the new technology!
