This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Help us become 21st century learners! The iPad is the new computer. In order to keep up with the times we need to use the resources being used by our leaders and community members. IPads will allow us to learn about technology and the curriculum simultaneously.

I teach in a low income school.

Most of our students receive free or reduced cost lunch and are unable to afford even the most basic school supplies. We have a high population of ESOL, learning disabled, and resource room students. I have students who have the desire to learn but do not have the materials. Many of them have very few life experiences, outside of school, to connect to their learning.

My Project

I am requesting an iPad for my students. This tablet will change the way my students are able to do science investigations and take control of their own learning through inquiry. They will be able to find information at their fingertips and have the ability to complete independent experiments without needing a ton of materials. They will also be able to access science simulations that they otherwise would not be able to do or experience.

Knowing how to use an iPad will allow my students to be more competitive in the 21st century.

They will be able to see, do, and experience more. They will be able to hone in on the technological skills that are imperative in today's society. These are the skills needed by our future doctors, scientists, astronauts, and engineers. The experiences the iPad will give my students may be just what they need to motivate them to enter into one of many scientific fields.
