This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

"The important thing is not to stop questioning." - Albert Einstein My students are an inquisitive and curious group of children who apply this quote every day! I have a culturally and economically diverse group of students, but the commonalities they share are their passion and love of learning.

As an educator, I am always looking for opportunities to grow and develop in my profession.

I have been an elementary school for 14 years and my students are the driving force behind my love and passion for teaching! I celebrate their individuality by looking at what drives and motivates them and adapt my teaching to meet their needs while adhering to state standards. That means there's are never any two years of teaching that are the same! :) Therefore, I am constantly perfecting my craft to meet the needs of such diverse learners. I can only do so by diversifying my own way of learning and being open to new perspectives. I am excited about the prospect of using advanced technology in my classroom as this is the area I have the least amount of knowledge in.

My Project

The materials I am requesting will allow me to learn how to connect the latest technology to classroom learning in innovative ways. I want to participate in an Education Week webinar titled Using Digital Tools to Personalize Learning. I also want to take a technology webinar on the Apple TV Educational Uses in order to improve my teaching. The iPad mini will allow me to participate in the webinars and later be used as the tool to connect images, video, presentations, and interactive learning to the Apple TV multimedia. A television is needed to display the multimedia content and for me to be able to collaborate w/ teachers from other schools on Skype on a large viewing screen. The professional development I will receive in technology and my ability to connect with peers will only make me a better teacher and more equipped to integrate technology into my instruction.

Donations to this project will improve my classroom instruction in exciting ways.

The materials will build my knowledge of how to integrate technology into classroom learning and I can provide my students with valuable access to information and interactive learning to meet their diverse needs. The iPad mini, Apple TV multimedia component, and television are the tools that I will use to become technologically literate and enhance my teaching methods.
