My Project

I am a school-based speech-language pathologist working with children from preschool to fifth grade. My caseload includes students with learning disabilities, speech-language impairments, other health impairments, and autism. Many of my students face challenges with communication, social interaction, and understanding the world around them. Each child is unique, with strengths and needs that require individualized and engaging approaches to help them succeed.

My Project:

I am seeking funding for an interactive smart TV and mobile stand to transform my speech therapy sessions into dynamic, engaging experiences. With this technology, I can provide interactive activities like:

• Digital storytelling to improve language comprehension and vocabulary.

• Social-emotional learning videos to help students understand social cues, problem-solving, and appropriate responses.

• Speech and language games to target articulation, receptive and expressive language, and communication goals.

• Interactive visuals to support students with autism who thrive with visual schedules and models.

This technology will allow me to present high-quality visuals and interactive content that captures students’ attention, reinforces key concepts, and provides hands-on learning experiences. It will also help bridge the gap for students who struggle with traditional learning methods by offering multi-sensory input and immediate feedback.

The Need:

Many of my students require visual and interactive support to understand and retain information. A smart TV would allow me to deliver high-quality, interactive content that supports their learning needs. Currently, I am limited in my ability to present engaging materials effectively. This tool will enable more meaningful and effective therapy sessions, fostering communication growth and confidence.
