This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember when you or your child enter a kindergarten classroom for the first time? It is an exciting and scary time in any child's life. It is the beginning of their formal education. Help me provide them with the necessary tools to become successful learner through the use of centers.

I teach a pilot dual-language kindergarten program in a highly impoverished neighborhood.

My class consists of 25 Spanish speaking students. They come knowing very little English and have very little knowledge of Spanish. They are eager to learn but unfortunately I am the only one in the classroom and giving them one on one support becomes very difficult.

My Project

The secret of teaching is allowing students to think that they are playing and having fun while in fact, they are learning all the skills needed to become successful adults. Kindergarten is a place to explore and enjoy learning. I am requesting: one pack of jumbo pencils, 4 magnetic boards, writing paper, a word builder, a word builder puzzle, an alphabet mystery box and a see, hear and learn phonics machine. These materials will allow my students to learn the basics of reading and writing in a fun engaging way, that will foster their love for learning.

Each child comes into this world with unique qualities and abilities, we each learn in our own unique style.

This project will allow me to differentiate instruction and reach each unique learning style in my classroom. "One size doesn't fit all".
