My Project

I am requesting stickers, paper clips, sticky notes, and Washi tape for our interactive genre journals.

All of these items will be used to personalize my students' genre journals.

Each student is challenged with reading 40 books in different genres throughout the year. After finishing a story, students enter the book read into their genre journal. This year, I would like to add a little personalization to the journals by letting the students add decorations to their pages or add a symbol that represents the book.

I meet with students each day during their free choice reading time. With all of the items I have ordered, I will use the items as a discussion piece to talk about the book the student has just finished. I will work with the students on what items would be appropriate to add to their pages. This will help students build vocabulary and look for connections.
