Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are responsible, respectful, kind, hardworking, and independent mathematicians. They work hard and persevere every day to overcome any challenges they may be facing. My high school students attend a Title I school meaning the majority of them come from low income households.

My Project

My students like to work in groups to create posters where they get to apply their understanding of the mathematical content. Students like to use their artistic skills when they create these math posters. Having enough materials motivates students to create amazing posters. Many times I do not have all the materials students need, so they feel limited on what they can create to showcase their mathematical understanding. I am requesting color pencils, markers, crayons, and color paper to provide my students with materials they will use to create math posters.

Having all of these materials available to use will motivate students to create fun, colorful, and interactive projects that will increase their mathematical understanding.

I want all my students to have the opportunity to show their understanding in a variety of ways, and giving them the opportunity to create posters will allow them to use their creativity as they master the content. All of these materials will have a great impact on my students’ mathematical understanding.
