A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are 99% minority students in an area of 40% poverty. All students are on free/reduced lunch. Many students come from homes of multiple siblings and single parent households. Some of the students are homeless, and have lost family members due to violence at home. These students often do not have the basic necessities at home. Resources are provided for clothing, schools supplies, and food. However, technology is currently lacking for their use. These children work hard and are eager to learn.
My Project
My students need to be able to participate in interactive technology lessons (such as nearpod and interactive notebooks) in our classroom, we need an Elmo and a projector. All of our students come from low income families, and are all on free or reduced lunch. We are currently a focus school. Getting more technology to use research based programs such as nearpod, kahoot, brainpop, teachtube, and other interactive classroom programs will greatly benefit the student's learning. I will use the projector and document camera to engage students in interactive classroom lessons. Step by step visuals on assembling interactive notes, walking through problems, watch videos, and interactive lessons for both whole group and small group instruction.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
