I am starting a new chapter of my life and leaving the school I have called home for the past 8 years. I am leaving amazing coworkers who have now become lifelong friends. I am leaving because the commute of 40-55 minutes one way has taken a toll on me since I have had my children. I have used and reused every folder, bulletin board, poster, etc., since I started teaching; and now I want a fresh start in my new classroom.
I want my middle school students to see an organized yet beautiful classroom as soon as they walk in the door.
An organized room, what these resources will be used for, will try and help organize the minds of these hormonal
preteens! The highlighters will help them separate like terms and the whisper phones will allow them to speak outloud during assessments so they can have an auditory component. I will help organize their homework from their “I can” statements with the washi tape. They can use whiteboards for graphing and solving which is an easy check for understanding from me!
To grow in self-regulation strategies, my middle schoolers need brain breaks with games, fidgets, and emotional support tools, that will increase their emotional awareness of being human while learning how to effectively "cool down!" Thank you for caring for tomorrow's young minds.
