Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

The materials and supplies that I am requesting will help create an interactive and calm learning environment. Interactive classrooms help students stay engaged in learning. The use of a portable monitor during math small group instruction, will make lessons more interactive.

It is essential to provide a quiet space for my students to remain in class, calm down quickly, and return to their learning space.

A calm classroom environment promotes positive social interactions and emotional well-being among students. This school year I would like to add a Calm Corner, as an additional resource that will allow students an outlet to cope, heal, and embrace their potential. The cozy chair would be a place for students to sit to take a calm moment to themselves. The sensory toys and the mp3 player are tools to help students retreat and regulate their emotions.
