My Project

At our school, we are dedicated to helping students explore their interest through practical learning experiences. In order to foster Career and College readiness, students must explore various pathways.

This training project is a pathway that will not only teach students the skill of babysitting but allow them to be used for a lifetime.

Secondly, the class could help many of my students care for younger siblings. At times, students are confused on what to do next and display frustration. This would give them the knowledge needed to efficiently take care of younger siblings.

In order to teach my students, the way they learn best, items such as diapers and dolls, doll clothing, books for read aloud time, and cleaning and sanitizing materials used for maintaining healthy environments have been requested to engage students in the practical experience.

This Babysitting course exposes students to age and stages of child development, basic first aid and CPR, how to feed, burp, and diaper a child, activities for children to keep them engaged, preparing for emergencies, keeping children safe and healthy, how to deal with conflict w/ a child and/or parent, and of course how to create a babysitting business. Students will use journals ordered to take notes and record their experiences during the class.

My students make me proud because they always show me their eagerness to learn and soak up information.

This career and college exploration project can help them consider a career in the field of education, be responsible when taking care of younger siblings, and of course earn money to support goals they may have for the future.
