My Students

There is no such thing as a typical day in Kindergarten. Teaching Kindergarten is organized chaos. As a teacher and having a type A personality, I plan everything to the last minute. But, depending on my students needs those plans always change. Teaching Kindergarten is always exciting!

My Kindergarten class is full of diverse learners.

I have a classroom of high learners and low learners. It is essential to their education that I reach them all. CES is a small school; Kindergarten-8th grade with around 115 students. We take pride in being a small school and trying to keep class sizes smaller.

My Project

The students will be using the different classroom materials I requested daily. I am asking for a whiteboard easel that is already lined to help with the students writing. During this time of year, the students get to be the teacher during special times. The lined writing board will allow the students to come up in front of the classroom and explain their thinking. The pocket chart I requested will help the students for whole group lessons and stations. The students will be able to move around learning manipulatives in the pocket chart. I am also asking for storage bins to organize the different units in our classroom. On a different note, I asked for healthy "play" food for the children to use. It is essential in Kindergarten for the students to have Dramatic playtime. It is also important at this young age to explain of the students about healthy food choices.

The students get excited about changes in our classroom.

Having new, and not broken or old, classroom furniture the students will get even more excited about their learning environment. Everything that I requested is materials that the students will be using on their own along with myself. As a teacher, I want to instill excitement for learning at such a young age. All of the materials will help myself as a teacher and help the students as learners.
