Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our students are an amazing group of young people. Despite having 100% free and reduced lunch status, our kids are determined to make sure that their present doesn't define their possibilities. At this stage of life, they, like most middle schoolers, are making sense of the world and determining how they want to make their mark within it. They are intrigued, inquisitive, energetic, and confounded by the changes happening around them and in them. Our youngsters are in a stage of life that cries out for opportunities to make a mark in the world as opposed to simply having the works of the world marking their lives.

With access to an iPad, our young people will evaluate and self reflect after small group workouts, practices, and games in order to accelerate their improvement.

If a picture is worth a thousand words, just imagine the impact of video. Our young people are driven to improve their lives in ways that are meaningful to them but don't always know how to take steps in that direction. With recordings of our basketball sessions we will be able to determine a baseline for our individual and team performance, design strategic growth opportunities and track growth.

Will you partner with us in designing opportunities for self awareness and development? Your contributions will advance our young people's understanding of what is required to intentionally become more robust in their being. Your partnership will aid in advancing the maturity needed to realize greater independence. Oh, and by the way our kids will become much better basketball players.
