Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My high school students will be teaching elementary school students about various health careers. They will be covering subjects such as CPR, First Aid, phlebotomy, blood typing, vital signs and biotechnology.

The students are excited to present to the younger kids and inspire them to be future health professionals.

My students have developed lessons and created experiences to introduce topics to the elementary students. The funding will help purchase prizes to give to the younger students. They plan on playing some games and raising morale. This is the first year post-pandemic that we are able to go off-campus and build relationships with the younger generations. My students have expressed a desire to connect and mentor others. This project will help to address that need that has been affected by COVID-19.

Some of the materials will also be used in the teaching of the lessons. The anatomy models and materials are to help give the younger students hands-on experiences with some body systems.
