My Students
“The question isn’t who’s going to let me; it’s who’s going to stop me?” – Ayn Rand
I teach 25 pretty awesome second-grade scholars and I love each and every one of them.
Every one of these students is special and unique in their own way. Most speak fluent Spanish and are beginning to learn the English language. Some come from homes where a grandparent is their primary caretaker. A couple of scholars belong to our nutrition club, a program where they are sent home with a backpack of food to help feed their families over the weekend. But, while they have their own challenges, every single family sends their child to school prepared to learn every day. I take my job very seriously and want nothing but the best for my scholars. While I may have high expectations of behavior and student work, all of my scholars know I care about each one of them.
My Project
My scholars are busy, hard-working, and inquisitive. They have not been introduced to the world of robotics. I would like to change that and open doors to their bright future by starting a STEM club after school. I want nothing more than to introduce them to an exciting way to love math, science, problem solve all while working with others.
The Sphero Mini and starter kit is all we need to begin our adventure in STEM.
These young scientists will learn how to work together to code and program their Minis to complete tasks such as obstacle courses, shape shift and even build their OWN obstacle courses!
I am excited to begin this club and would appreciate support in setting my scholars up for success!
