This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Student's at our school love to learn! They enjoy reading, but sometimes struggle to read on grade level. They are into sports and technology. We are a one to one school, so children are able to learn electronically. They enjoy researching and exploring apps.
Our school has a wonderful school-wide community.
We are like a family and everyone watches out for each other. It is not uncommon to see an older student helping a kindergartner tie their shoe in the hallway.
My Project
Our students need books that will inspire them to be the best people they can be. These new stories are engaging and motivational. The hope is they will encourage students to make good decisions. These books range from telling stories using humor to sharing true stories about deep topics which will make students think.
Sharing stories is one of the ways we connect with students.
Through stories and conversation we are able to sway students to make smart choices. Students connect with characters and can relate to the stories they hear which can in turn help them think of ways to better themselves.
