Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In this project, we are asking for new books for students to enjoy for the upcoming book club unit. During this unit, students are taught discussion techniques that help them have rich and deep conversations about the books they are reading. This unit is best when they all have the same book to read and discuss. Also, I want to give them the opportunity to discuss these new books by also enjoying a snack. Making reading fun and exciting is the ultimate goal I have as an educator. In this unit, students will learn how to identify character traits, how characters solve world problems and lessons books teach us. Some of the books we are requesting such as Towers Falling and Besties: Find their Groove, are great books that lend to these type of reading skills. The snacks we are requesting like Sun Chips and Pringles are some of the students' favorites to enjoy!
