My Project

To prepare my students for the future and responsibilities as adults, we have a well-established classroom economy. Every student in my class has a job and they receive a paycheck every two weeks, with which they have to pay a monthly rent. Students can spend any extra money in our classroom store or on coupons for special privileges.

My students have bright futures in front of them; they are the teachers, lawyers, artists and dentists that will shape the world in years to come.

Our classroom economy is a big hit amongst my students so far, but I want our success to last all year. To that end, I am requesting fun items like Smencils (pencils that smell), rainbow scratch paper, playdoh and slap bracelet for our classroom store. The other materials I have requested are activities which will build our classroom community like painting suncatchers, making our own wooden magnets for our lockers and planting Tickle Me plants (they close their leaves when you touch them).

I believe that these supplies will inspire my students to dream big dreams.
