My Students

Dance education, teaching students about dance history, a variety of dance styles and techniques, choreographic techniques, and most importantly the idea of translating meaning to movement, is the entire goal of my dance program. I have the honor of working with a number of students, male dancers, female dancers, and even dancers from our special education program to put on a spring dance concert each year.

This year our spring concert is entitled Inspired by Dr. Seuss, using inspiration from his books and life, and translating those same themes and ideas into our movement!

Our concert is student driven, with student choreography, student tech and stage crew, student narrators and performers. We bring the art and joy of dance to audiences of over 1000 each year!

My Project

Each year I strive to bring in new choreographers with new ideas, styles, and dynamics to provide my dancers with a well-rounded experience through our school's dance company. Karlie is a revered and talented choreographer from our community. She is also an alumnus of our school and the dance company. Karlie has performed and choreographed around the country, recently choreographing for the Oregon State University Dance Team. Her knowledge and skill in dance, technique and choreography in a variety of dance forms are at the highest level and her creativity is an exciting thing to be a part of. Allowing my students the opportunity to learn and grow as dancers, and as people, under her teaching would exponentially enrich their dance education experience.
