Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am requesting the professional development texts "A Novel Approach," "No More Fake Reading," and "Readicide," to use during a novel study for teachers on how to effectively incorporate independent reading into the ELA classroom.

In order to empower students to become lifelong readers, teachers must provide them with meaningful opportunities to read self-selected high-interest books.

These texts will guide teachers on how to create classroom libraries with books students will want to read, the importance of sustained silent reading, the power of student choice, and how to celebrate students' achievement.
