My Students

With this project my students will be able to stretch their creativity as they interact with art and technology in exciting and innovative ways.

My students are excited to come to school each day and to learn from one another.

They enjoy working in collaborative groups and sharing their knowledge with each other. My students enjoy using their critical thinking skills to evaluate new information. I often integrate the arts into our lessons so that my students can make personal connections to their learning and demonstrate what they know in creative ways. I am hoping that with the help of the Disneyland CREATE grant that I can bring the Osmo gaming system into my classroom.

My Project

I am requesting 5 Osmo Gaming Systems. The Osmo Gaming System for iPads is a technology system that bridges the physical and digital worlds by taking the experience beyond the screen by allowing students to manipulate concrete objects and have them interact with the technology on the screen. Osmo has 4 apps that will ignite the spark of innovation in my students. The tangram & obstacle apps force students to think creatively and apply problem solving skills as they solve puzzles & overcome challenges. Words promotes collaboration and teamwork as students work together to compete in friendly word puzzles. While using Masterpiece, students will use their imaginations and creativity as they explore new drawing skills and techniques. This app enables students to manipulate digital images in innovative ways. For example, they can put their own head on a superhero's body. Students will use our classroom’s art supplies to make final art pieces to take home & share with their families.

It's important to bring the arts into the classroom & to inspire students' creativity.

Osmo is an in engaging and hands-on activity that allows students to bring their ideas to life. Osmo allows students to experiment with new ideas and see what happens when they try and bring those ideas to life. It is my hope to bring this project to my students with the help of the Disneyland CREATE grant and other generous donors.
