Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The STEPS Program is ever growing and expanding. My colleagues and I are constantly STEPping up our game to give our students as many real life experiences as possible to ensure they have the skills necessary to be successful adults when they leave the school setting.

We live in an Agricultural Area in South Florida where there is an abundance of employment opportunities for our students.

We have a school garden that is in need of a make-over for the upcoming school year. We would like to plant a combination of herbs, plants, and flowers with the seeds and liquid nutrients. In addition, we have an AeroGarden that is in need of supplies in order to be up and running for the school year.

Having the students compare the care, growth, and outcome differences and similarities between plants grown the traditional way and plants grown in the AeroGarden will be valuable tool in their understanding of agriculture.
