This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach in a multi-age classroom of children between the ages of 3-6. Our school is one of the few public Montessori Schools in our city. My students are very active and enjoy different hands-on activities.
"The first duty of an education is to stir up life, but leave it free to develop." These are Dr. Maria Montessori's words and I need your help to stir up my children's learning and entice their thirst for knowledge!
Thank you in advance.
My Project
"A child is a discoverer." -Maria Montessori
My students are constantly exploring their environment.
They are always engaged in conversation between peers and during whole group read alouds. These wonderful children seek to find new ideas to connect their experiences in their daily life. With this project, you will be helping my students gain independence and control of their learning.
The books I am requesting will provide both non-fiction and fiction versions of the concepts we will explore in the classroom. The guided reading book collection will make sure that my students are also able to practice their own decoding skills and other reading strategies, while seeking for information they thirst for.
The new book shelf will declutter our classroom library and assure accessibility of every book available.
