My Students

I am a Special Education, public school teacher. I currently teach second grade working with General Education and Special Education students. My goal is to create a beautiful, secure environment in which my students develop a love for learning! A place where they feel comfortable to ask for help and go for challenges. To aid in this process, I am requesting materials that will support their learning, as well as make for a warm and welcoming environment for when we return to school after COVID19. Specifically so, I am requesting an array of sensory chairs and new chapter books to support their love of learning.

My students are kind, caring and driven.

I work in an integrated co-teaching setting in which all abilities are welcomed and supported. As their teacher, I strive to develop a love of learning, academic readiness and social skills that will open doors to success in life.

My Project

These materials will used within the classroom. Our students need leveled texts to support their reading levels. It is proven that if students have access to rich print environments, learning will thrive. Reading, using leveled texts, allows students to progress to the next level. If you are able to read on grade level, less struggles and frustration will occur. Our sensory cushions are also helpful in supporting the needs of our Special Education population. These cushions allow our students to sit for longer periods of time while providing quiet movement. This supports their attention and behavior.
