Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is located in the heart of East Los Angeles. Most students in my class are first generation students from Hispanic and low income families. They are a unique class composed of Gate, RSP, and high achieving students.

My students are committed, enthusiastic and ready to learn 21st Century skills.

They enjoy coding and using technology that helps them think like engineers and computer programmers. They enjoy going into the computer lab and using CS Fist programs for coding and developing projects.

My Project

My class currently has 3 Mindstorms EV3 Educational sets and it only allows a ratio of one for every ten students.

The class needs two more Lego Mindstorms sets, so that the ratio would decrease one to six students, which would allow the groups in my class to share collaboratively in smaller groups.

Smaller groups allows students to build, program, and test their models using LEGO bricks and real-life robotics technology. Help provide my students the opportunity for a comprehensive start to learning STEM subjects and computer science in the 21st century. Allow them to be ready to learn!
