This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach in a low socioeconomic area with diverse demographics in an urban public school district. For most of the students, our campus is a second home. Many arrive before school starts and stay late after the bell rings because they are involved in sports, clubs, music and arts programs, academic tutoring, and Associated Student Body (ASB) events, as well as community service and outreach.

In short, our students are part of our family and our school is an integral part of our community.

We want to make sure that we support our school family and community in every way we can. This project will help us do just that by improving our ability to communicate on campus.

My Project

My school's Associated Student Body (ASB) students will use the Graphic 8-ColorQT-3 MarkerKitt to make posters that will promote events and activities on the campus. Although we live in a very tech-y world, posters on the school campus are the easiest way to reach the most number of students on a daily basis. Currently we are using a poster ink kit that is almost 20 years old and we are in dire need of new supplies.

In order to foster school spirit, build communication, and encourage students to participate in our activities, we need this Graphic 8-ColorQT-3 MarkerKitt to advertise events in eye-catching ways.

We promote pep assemblies, elections, athletic events, and advertise after-school functions like dances, festivals, fundraisers, and concerts for our band, orchestra, and choir programs. ASB also creates posters for Back to School, Open House, College Night, AP/Honors Night, Awards Night, and our Parent Education Program. Basically, ASB is the on campus marketing department for all things related to campus. In addition, all school clubs, groups, and organizations regularly use the supplies for their academic and extra curricular needs. This is a tall task with such a limited budge. We need this kit to help us improve our communication with students, teachers, parents and the community.
