Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from a low socioeconomic background in New York City. My school is a Title I school and I teach Visual Arts. I travel from room to room and this project will allow my students to get up and have movement when I visit them for art. They haven't had any music or art class for many years are they need both!

My Project

I’m a visual arts educator in an inner city school. This is the first year my school has had art education in a long time. I’m starting to teach the students about elements of of art; line, shape, color, space, form, texture, and pattern to name a few. The elements of art are the visual tools that the artist uses to create a composition. I need color ink to print examples of famous works of art to show how artist convey this. Color in art can evoke a mood or create a response in the viewer. Ink is so expensive and that stinks!!
