This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Accessibility to technology and essential resources such as printers are difficult to come by at our school. I want my students to have access to everything they need to be successful in school.

Many of my students' have great hopes and dreams, but feel as if their dreams will never come to fruition due to the lack of resources, transiency of our school, and the lack of access to technology and higher education.

They have dreams of changing the world as doctors, lawyers, engineers and computer scientists, and I believe many will attain their dreams. While they are in my class, I want to make sure that there are no obstacles to their success.

My Project

Daily I have students approaching me and requesting to print our files for homework, projects, and other assignments. For the last few years, I was spending about $50 dollars each month to accommodate the students, however, this last year due to furloughs and other difficulties, I have not been able to consistently provide them with access to a printer in my class. I have used online Wikis, websites and other great online resources to enhance class and reduce printing, however, the need still persists. With an in class printer, students will be able to produce handouts, documentation of assignments, print homework, and help create printed resources to enhance learning.

I do not want anything to hinder my students from being successful, and time and time again, many of my students do not turn in assignments because they could not access a printer.

Please help me provide access to a simple yet important resource for my students. Thanks you.
