Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students have a love for learning, exploring, creating. My students have benefited from visual aids to maximize their participation in therapeutic and school activities.

My students experience difficulties with fine motor skills (ex: writing, cutting, tool use), tolerance for sensory input (also known as sensory integration skills), social participation, attention, and executive functioning skills.

In Occupational Therapy, students learn sensory, motor, visual and self-regulation skills to maximize engagement in school occupations.

Visual aids will help benefit my students as visual aids provide structure and predictability, clarifies expectations, reinforces verbal directions, reduces anxiety, teaches time concepts and sequencing, facilitates transitions and are often available to reference throughout the school day.
