Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

One word I would use to describe our students: Resilient.

Our students work hard, and their motto is, "We do not lose, We learn."

Our students live in an extremely remote part of Texas, and have few resources to supplement their education and extracurricular activities. Despite this, they work continuously to grow and make our community a better place. They are involved in multiple activities, academic and athletic, and continue to show pride in our school.

For this reason, I would like to help give back to them.

My Project

Our school currently has no cardio equipment, or equipment that can easily be utilized for injured or special needs students that still want to participate in athletics.

Options for athletic involvement for injured or special needs students are currently slim to none at our school.

An upright indoor bike will not only allow injured students to still be able to participate in athletics and continue to be part of the team, help recovery time of the injury, and keep cardio health up throughout the injury. It would also allow our Adapted PE class for special needs student an option for cardio, as they currently have none.

Our students would greatly benefit from this piece of equipment, as we strive to maintain a healthy atmosphere for all students.
