My Project

Field day is one of the most exciting days of the year. For many of our student's field day may be the only fun carnival type activity that they will get to attend this summer. Therefore, I make it one of the most memorable days for our students with crazy fun stations. I want them to feel that in some way they have been transported to Disney for the day.

I believe that just small change after small change, will eventually amount to great change.

The great change is that the students at our school will be forever changed due to the positive mindset that comes with trying new stations. Every year I make small changes to the stations that bring excitement and anticipation.

The inflatable ga-ga pit will allow them to learn the game of ga-ga ball. This game uses the skills of dodging, striking, running and jumping with the objective of being the last student in the pit. The students will love the excitement of moving around the pit trying to hit others with a below the knee strike with a soft ball, all while working on their fundamental locomotor skills. The inflatable soccer darts will allow them to work on their kicking skills as they attempt to kick the balls on to the large Velcro dart board. We give out prizes at our field day based on stations where scores can be reached so e.g for this one if they hit the bullseye then they can win a prize. This will give them the mindset of never giving up and to keep trying. Finally, the giant spoons with ostrich shaped plastic eggs will be so fun to add to our obstacle course and will help work on hand eye coordination and also balance.
