My Project
Recess is something that my children, as well as all children look forward to. They like to engage with their classmates without as much structure as the classroom environment. They sometimes are very disappointed when we can't go outside for recess. This happens with some regularity because of the heat, cold, or excessive rain.
I want to make indoor recess more fun and exciting as well as educational for the children.
The building materials I requested will help with that. I want the children to use their hands and minds without the use of electronics during indoor recess.
The children will be able to sit on the cushions and build with the various materials and puzzles. The following of instructions, deciphering order, understanding quantity, symmetry, patterns and location of the bricks, helps children to develop their mathematical skills and spatial awareness and encourages them in developing how to problem solve and come up with new ideas.
