My Students

Many of my students do not know what is going on beyond our city, state, or country's borders. They do not know what challenges face teens worldwide. Please allow me to introduce my students to Malala. She stood up for the educational rights for Pakistani girls. She is proof that one voice matters.

Our school has many nationalities represented.

My students are high achieving, yet, from various different economic backgrounds. Our school is considered to be a school of need according to the number of students that qualify financially for free lunch programs. My students love to learn. They enjoy hands-on labs where they can create products or explain and explore why things occur.

My Project

The most fun a lot of my students get to experience is the fun the have at school. I do my absolute best to keep the classroom as engaging, fun and informal as I possibly can. They have a lot of things going on at home, and they need a safe place to partake in child like games whenever the opportunity arises. Not to mention this project could introduce these students to games they can go back to play and bond with their families at home! Checkers, Trouble, Connect 4, and Uno are games that students can play with little siblings as well as the grandparents many of them live with.

Having these classic activities to use during indoor recess will not only give students a break academically, but socially emotional as well!

It will reinforce working collaboratively , as well was independently to reach a goal. This is a life skill that is necessary to master during middle school. These skills can be used when the students transition to their academic classes as well. The storage bins will allow us to storage the indoor recess materials in a safe manner when they are not using them. With your help we can put an instant smile on these hearts.
