Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are creative, artistic, energetic students from different backgrounds, ethnicities, and socioeconomic status. They are between the ages of 6 and 8. Many times 75% to 85% of my students are on free or reduced-price lunch.

My classroom has a mixture of students from ESE to Gifted to ESOL.

My English as a Second Language Learners are between Levels 1-4, and my many of my ESE students have a variety of learning accommodations and although sometimes struggle, they never give up and every one of them is full of potential and eager to learn! It's my job to ensure that they have all the tools they need to succeed!

My Project

Please help me give my students individual, drawstring bags filled with their very own equipment like bean bags, ring toss, comet balls, bubble wands and play-doh for rainy days. I will put a bag together for each of my students so that they can grab their bag and go outside for fresh air and to take mental breaks. Due to COVID and the masks and social distancing mandates for our kids, it is more important than ever to be able to take my students outside for fresh air, movement, exercise and play. This will be a very unique and challenging year and being able to go outside as much as possible, while still following social distance mandates and keeping them safe will make a world of difference to them.
