My students love learning about Native American culture through art. We will use the Crayola Light Boards to assist us in learning about different types of symmetry while drawing and sketching. My younger students will learn about reflection while older students will learn about rotation, translation and glide.
Our first project is to create a piece of art comprised of geometric patterns and symbols of Anishinabe or Dakota contributions including foods, housing, games, traditions, etc.
The study of art and culture can build confidence as well as a sense of identity.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
