Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are incredibly artistic and fun individuals. At this high school, students study subjects such as fashion design, business marketing, photography, and art in order to receive a CTE diploma at the end of their four years. The freshmen who I teach now and who would benefit from this project picked out all of these books!

The best way to get students to love reading is to let them choose the books they want to read!

This is why I am writing this DonorsChoose project because I want my students to have access to the novels they told me they would enjoy reading.

They will use these novels daily as part of our “Independent Reading” segment of each lesson. They will read silently at the start of every class for ten minutes. Rather than having them choose from the books we already have in the classroom, I thought it would be great to have them pick out their own books to add to our class library. This will help them learn to love reading!
