My Students

My students come from a variety of backgrounds and experiences. I am the teacher for the First Grade ESE Inclusion classroom, with students of various learning styles and abilities. Many students have blended families and parents who work long hours, sometimes making it hard to provide educational support at home.

"I can do it!" That is the excitement I get to hear when my students learn something new or have achieved a new goal they've worked so hard for!

Each student finds his or her own comfort zone when they are allowed to explore and find out what works for them while working in an inviting environment!

My Project

I have a sweet group of first grade students, in an ESE inclusion classroom. We need more variety in our classroom library for students to practice independent reading at an appropriate level.

Students will be able to take these books home to practice reading with families!

The students will be able to share their independent reading skills with their family members using books at an appropriate reading level and skill.

With my class being the ESE inclusion classroom, many students are receiving extra support through their IEPs and others are receiving extra support through tiered intervention. I want them to feel more successful by having a wider variety of books to choose from.
