This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Keep us organized! With so little room in our class we need to keep ourselves organized.

My students are a 2nd grade class in a public school in Queens.

They are wonderful students who are always looking for new opportunities to learn. They come in engaged and positive and ready to work every day, unfortunately due to space in our classroom we often are on top of each other squished into tiny spaces because we are trying to fit everything in buckets around our room.

My Project

We have asked for a cart with 12 drawers to help organize our math manipulative's. This will allow my students to gain independence as mathematicians. I want them to feel comfortable in our room and be able to access everything when they need it. This will be a wonderful organizational tool for us because we have such little space everything is currently packed in closets, where I need to get it for them when they need it. This organizer will allow me to work one on one and directly address students needs while others can work independently and get what they need without my assistance.

It will truly make a difference in my 2nd graders gaining independence in our classroom. This is the year for students to learn and grow from each other and this cart will certainly help us take a step in the right direction.
