My Project

As you know, 4K is a time of learning independence and how to truly become a person of their own as well as how to be at school. Becoming an independent child is brand new for some of these 4 year old's and takes quite a bit of time and practice. This is the year they learn to take care of their own things and do many things by themselves without the help of mom or dad anymore.

As you can imagine, with that comes a lot of transition time.

Getting materials out and putting them away can sometimes be more time consuming than the actual activity itself. My 4K classroom is not an actual kindergarten classroom (we are on the 2nd grade hall and have a basic size and set up for our 4K class) and space is very, very limited. Having these seat sacks on the back of each students chair will help in 2 ways. They will help with transition times from not having to pass out certain materials or putting them away in specific areas of the classroom. It will also help with the already limited space we are provided for storing said materials.

My students will store their headphones, morning journals, white boards, pencils, dry erase markers and erasers, and crayons in their seat sacks. This will help tremendously and give us so much more time to enjoy the activities we are using these materials for. My students and I would be so grateful for the added lesson time!
