My Students

My students are in a verbal behavior classroom where they work on communication and language, as well as foundational skills that will help them access academics in the future. Although the abilities and goals are different for each student, they do share a few similar interest such as windup toys, magna tiles and sensory buckets. The students are eager to request their wants and needs throughout the day and they enjoy playing games like Pop the Pig.

My students are just entering school for the first time, and with the right foundation they can acquire and maintain fundamental skills for their future.

My students have great potential to become independent with the right materials and exposure. Throughout the day, the students rotate to different stations in the classroom to work on their individual goals, work in a group of two, and work on independent task.

My Project

The fine motor containers, alphabet key and locks, and the number pegboards are all tasks that my students can learn to complete independently. Throughout the day students are prompted and guided by teachers to foster learning and complete tasks. Students are confidant and engaged when they are able to complete a previously acquired task on their own.

The materials in this project will help my students with their independence.

This is a very important life skill and the educators in my classroom work very hard to help the students achieve their own form of independence. This project will add to the variety of tasks that the students are capable of independently completing
