This is my second year teaching and it has been such a joy! I was moved twice within my first year, but now I am settled in. I started out teaching 3rd grade ELA and Social Studies, was moved to 4th grade Science and Social Studies, and now I'm teaching 5th grade ELA and Social Studies. I couldn't ask for a better grade to teach.
My students are awesome and I try my best to instill that positivity within them.
I like that I can have real conversations with them and use real life experiences to help them understand different scenarios and lessons. They come from various backgrounds and some may be required to do a little more than others, which may prevent them from showing their full potential in school. One of my students apologized several times for not doing his homework because his brother and mom had a disagreement, which distracted him.
I want to give my students the best education I can give them. I want them to be fully supplied and equipped to ensure they are successful in my class.
The folders, labels, books, and book bins will be used for Accelerated Reading and the classroom library. The book bins will allow me to organize my books by book levels, so that my students can easily access books based on their reading levels. The folders will be used to keep track of their reading and point goals. The composition books, highlighters, and pens will be used for completing writing assignments, highlighting the main idea, details, and important facts, and proofreading/editing their writing. The highlighters will also be used in Social Studies. The colored paper will be used to send home reports and important notes. Plain white paper gets ignored, but color signifies importance.
I want my students to learn comfortably.
Unfortunately, during this time, sanitation and cleanliness is important, the Lysol spray and wipes will be used to ensure a clean classroom. Lastly, the sanitary pads are for my female students. There have been a few instances when they needed it and I didn't have any to give. I would greatly appreciate all of your help in creating a positive environment and increasing the passion to learn!
