My Project

These books will help increase diversity in our school's library media center, which will in turn allow our book collection to better reflect the diversity of our students. I work as a Library Media Specialist at a diverse Title 1 school in Maryland. It would be an absolute joy to have a school library that better reflects the diversity of our student population. These books and book marks would benefit every student in our school (457 of them)!

My desire and dream is that students would be able to see more books on our shelves with characters and authors that are diverse; you could be a part of making this dream come to life!

Every student book that is placed in our school's library media center is chosen with our students in mind. Our space is a place that our students really enjoy, and every student is treated with love and care. Students have the opportunity every week to check out books and read them. I wish you could see the smile on their faces when they see that one of their favorite books is on our shelves.

Please consider helping fund the purchase of diverse books and fun colorful book marks that will get our students even more motivated about reading!
