My Students

I work in a low-income school and our program is an at-risk Pre-K. At-risk factors include low-income, single family homes, incarcerated parent, English as a second language, etc. 32% of my students also qualify for my program by needing an IEP to help to with their academic, social, and health needs.

I have two sessions, AM and PM Pre-K classes, with 40 students total.

My students range in age from 3-5 years, and are energetic, talkative, caring, and social. Every student deserves enough hands-on materials to help them learn the skills and concepts necessary to be successful in Kindergarten.

My Project

"Young children live in a world of interactive media. They are growing up at ease with digital devices that are rapidly becoming the tools of the culture at home, at school, at work, and in the community." (NAEYC)

It's no secret children are intrigued and motivated by technology, and this project will help me reach, motivate, and individualize instruction for students.

Students will be able to prepare for their future from the very beginning of their school career with me in preschool! If I can start them off right, the possibilities for them are endless!

Students will be able to use the iPad individually or in pairs for instruction as well as a reward system to navigate age-appropriate websites and apps that'll reinforce instruction and keep them engaged. This iPad, keyboard, and cover will also help students to get familiar with seeing a keyboard and help familiarize themselves with where letters are for future typing skills. It will also help students with letter recognition!
