My Project

Help me give my students tools to enhance the mental health and overall wellness support services available to our Littleton High School student population. Our primary goal is to promote multicultural-inclusive mental health awareness by providing resources that cater to the increasingly diverse backgrounds and needs of our students.

Components: Multilingual Self-Help Books: We aim to create a comprehensive collection of self-help mental health books in both English and Spanish.

This will enable us to reach a broader segment of our student body, including an ever-increasing number of whose primary language is Spanish.

Sensory Items: To address various sensory needs and preferences, we plan to procure sensory items. These items will be available in our counseling office, providing students with tools to manage stress and anxiety effectively.

Self-Care Materials: We will acquire self-care materials like art supplies. These materials will be used during counseling sessions, workshops, and wellness activities to teach students valuable self-care practices.

This project will have a significant and lasting impact on our student population:

Multicultural Inclusion: By offering resources in English and Spanish, we aim to create a more inclusive environment where all students can access mental health support tailored to their language and cultural backgrounds.

Mental Health Awareness: Access to self-help books, sensory items, and self-care materials will empower our students to better understand and manage their mental health, fostering emotional resilience and well-being.

General Wellness: The incorporation of sensory items and self-care materials will promote overall wellness, providing students with the means to de-stress and focus on their personal well-being.
