My Project
As a gym teacher, my goal is to ensure that every student develops a love for health and gym class.
My project focuses on fostering balanced well-being by integrating mental, physical, and social health into the curriculum.
In gym class, students will practice mindfulness and meditation through the use of yoga mats, allowing them to cool down and refocus before returning to their regular classes. This approach highlights the importance of mental health and provides students with tools to manage stress and anxiety.
Additionally, the inclusion of inflatable Gaga pits is crucial for promoting physical and social health. With large class sizes and limited outdoor space in Center City Philadelphia, these pits offer students a unique opportunity to engage in physical activity, teamwork, and sportsmanship. The Gaga pits encourage students to move their bodies, participate in social games, and build a sense of community. By focusing on mental and physical health and fostering a strong sense of community, this project aims to create a gym environment where students can thrive in all aspects of well-being.
