My Project

At the heart of my Donors Choose campaign is a deep commitment to providing a dynamic and inclusive learning environment for my fifth-grade students, many of whom have ADHD. Through the incorporation of flexible seating, sensory fidgets, and a treasure box incentive system, I aspire to create a supportive atmosphere that not only enhances their educational journey but also celebrates their individuality.

My students are incredibly resilient and creative individuals who possess unique talents and strengths.

However, many of them face daily challenges associated with ADHD, including difficulties with attention, impulse control, and sensory processing. Despite these obstacles, they exhibit a remarkable determination to succeed.

Enhance Learning Experience: By incorporating flexible seating options, sensory fidgets, and engaging incentives, I aim to create a learning environment that caters to the diverse needs of my students. These resources will empower them to remain focused and engaged.

Foster Independence and Responsibility: Through the implementation of a treasure box incentive system, students will have the opportunity to earn rewards for their positive behavior and academic achievements. This not only reinforces desirable conduct but also cultivates a sense of ownership and responsibility within the classroom community.

Promote Emotional Well-being: Recognizing the importance of emotional regulation and self-regulation skills, I seek to provide my students with access to sensory fidgets, such as fidgets. These tools will enable them to manage their emotions effectively, reduce anxiety, and maintain a sense of calmness and focus.

Importance of Flexible Seating for Students with ADHD: The science behind flexible seating for students with ADHD is rooted in the principles of sensory integration and movement. Traditional classroom settings often require students to remain seated for extended periods, which can be particularly challenging for individuals with ADHD who may struggle with impulsivity and restlessness.
