Inclusive Classroom Seating

Help me give my students some flexible seating and fidgeting tools to make my classroom more inclusive. With hybrid learning still an option right now, I also need new headsets.

My Students

I will be teaching 8th grade math this year at a Title I school in Northern California. Most of my students are socioeconomically disadvantaged and there are many migrant students and English Language Learners that will benefit from your support.

My Project

Some of my students need ways to productively get rid of energy during class. Alternative seating such as chair bands, comfort seating, and rocker chairs are positive intervention methods that will allow some of my students to stay in the classroom.

Students can choose seats with bands to fidget their feet that allow them to sit for longer periods of time, rockers that move quietly without disrupting others, or choose comfort seats during free time that allow them to stretch and feel less stressed.

My students also need a new set of classroom headsets for collaborative and online group work. My class set was distributed to students last year and most were not returned. These headsets will allow students to communicate to each other in online class projects and will also be useful when working independently on their iReady math remediation program.
